My Exit Strategy
1. I definitely do not plan to keep my business for a long time. Pest control products are easy to sell to other companies, especially if the product has a good reputation. I would sell this business as soon as I built a reputable reputation and felt this endeavor was no longer beneficial.
2. I plan to attend graduate school at New York University. Here, I want to attain a Master of Public Health in Epidemiology. I want to focus on graduate school and start a life in New York City. I do not want to run a business during this time. Also, since I do not plan to pursue an education in medical entomology after I graduate from UF, I do not see the value in investing in and handling a pest control product.
3. This choice has impacted the product I have created. I spent time focussing on this one product because I do not wish to invest in something larger. If I were to create this product, I would most likely sell it to a company to spend time on other things, such as grad school.
Ashley your plan makes a lot of sense and you have outlined specific details of why you’ve created it. You’ve essentially done a lot of the R & D and could sell the product idea to a larger company. This seems like a smart exit strategy. You’ve clearly reflected upon this and a made a decision that works with your future plans and goals.
